Decision Guidance
We understand how important it is to know your options when making a decision about your or a family member's health care. We have compiled information about the home health care option that should help guide you to the decision that is best for you or your family member.
Qualifying for Home Health Care
If after an illness, injury or surgery, you are still in need of
ongoing medical care, or if you are battling a long-term illness,
home health care might be a viable option. To qualify for home
health care under Medicare you need to be considered homebound.
Medicare currently defines homebound as "not able to leave the
home unassisted, and leaving the home is a considerable and taxing
effort." This, however, does not limit you from occasionally leaving
your house for things like a religious service, or an appointment
at the hair salon.
